You're being called an "auctioneer" because you said the "asking price is
$1000", you didn't say "or best offer".  Yet you're entertaining higher offers
and having people "bid" the price up.  To maintain your ethical integrity, you
should sell it to the first person that offered to pay you $1,000 or withdraw to
offer the van for sale and re-list it as "$1,000 or best offer."
