When I was waffling about buying a new Vanagon there was a brand new Hobie Cat edition at Humphrey Motors in Hayward, CA. I was tempted to get it but bought the Wolfsburg edition instead. This was in 1987. I think the Hobie ones are cool-looking. -----Original Message----- From: David Brodbeck [mailto:gull@GULL.US] Sent: Friday, April 04, 2003 9:39 AM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Re: Hobie Cat Vanagon? The previous owner of my '75 claimed the guy who'd owned it before *him* had towed a Hobie cat with it. It did have a hitch installed. This may partly explain why the van was on its second engine at only 120,000 miles. ;) David Brodbeck, N8SRE '82 Diesel Westfalia '94 Honda Civic Si
