Thanks Doug, and Mark Keller, for your call tonight to offer some great advice before
we leave tomorrow! I managed to get a new temp level sensor in tonight, and all
seems ok so far. I've given up on curing the VS issues until I return. The temp level
sensor is an exercise in frustration - it is a very fine line between too loose and
leaking, and too tight and cracking the plastic. My first attempt seemed pretty tight
but promptly leaked after 10 minutes of running the engine. I eventually tightened
another 3/4 turn (!) a bit at a time before it finally stopped leaking (I think).

We're off, thanks to all who've offered words of wisdom!
