Lloyd, Let us know how you get along with the insurance company. I have just come out the other end of dealing with insurance company's after being rear ended by a 4 wheel drive pickup of Japanese origin. Insurance decided to total my 84 Vanagon which had been the kid haller for the past 15 years, it was struck while on active duty nobody hurt and after exchange of information said van continued on to the ski resort with athletes, and arrived in time for all to participate in there races. After body shop inspected the van and estimated over $7000.00 to repair insurance said we are not repairing (even though van was still drivable ) and totalled it. So we are now the proud new owners of a 86 Westy which we picked up off E-Bay and are already running the miles up on with three trips in the last four weeks one of which was to Death Valley with no problems so far. >Opps not "ALL" just all the right side and right rear corner are >bumper battered Lloyd(Who is going to a bodyshop for a estimate >tomorrow ) > >Well the '87 Westfalia was happly parked next to two 4 wheel drive pick >ups at a beach parking area near Manila, Calif (Humboldt Co) when the >driver( Son) went back its was rear end pushed 6 feet side ways all the >body >panels + slider are pushed in looks like it was rammed 3 times and the >mirrors where broken by a rock...We've got some leads but will let the >Police and Insurance handle it.
