I took a long trip on US-2 once, and that was kind of interesting, in that it's one of the few remaining US routes that isn't freeway for most of its length. I really am a fan of taking old US routes when possible, instead of interstates. You won't make as much distance in a day but you see a lot more scenery. US-2 may be a little short on traditional scenic stops, though. I do recommend touring the Ft. Peck Dam powerhouses, in eastern Montana, if they still give tours. (I haven't been there in about a decade.) And of course Glacier National Park and the Going-to-the-Sun Road are a must see. Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Michigan, while not on US-2, isn't too far. David Brodbeck, N8SRE '82 Diesel Westfalia '94 Honda Civic Si
