Subject:Re: Syncro gas tank in a 2WD?

I think it can be done, but you would have to lower your transmission a bit
to make it work as the Syncro's crank line is about 5cm lower than a 2WD. I
think you would be almost better off making a aluminium or stainless tank
that fits between the frame rails.

Subject: Syncro gas tank in a 2WD?

While sweating where the next gas station would be on a lonesome stretch of
road this morning I started wondering if it would be possible to install a
syncro gas tank in my westy with a solenoid to switch between tanks. It
seems like it should work... but then again I don't know what the difference
on the top of the syncro tranny are compared to the 2WD ones. Has any one
already attempted this project? I'd love to hear some first hand knowledge,
but second to that would be some good old fashioned bench racing about the
possibility.
