IRS is independent rear suspension. Swingaxle is independent if the
springs allow independent movement of each wheel, as VW's torsionbar
setup does (I think the early Corvettes used transverse leaf springs,
so their swingaxles were NOT independent... and there is no such
thing as "semiindependent"!).

The LT is VW's big van, first model produced in the 80s.
