R-12 is not illegal, it's just been taxed and legislated to death.

From what I hear, there's quite a bit of R-12 smuggling going on at the
Mexican border. I wonder how much respect an R-12 smuggler gets in
prison...

Cheers,

Jeff

Man am I glad my dad had the foresight to buy a case of R12 days
before it became illegal! He gave it to me when he bought new
cars and had no need. Still have half of the case. Used two cans
last spring to recharge it--still nice and cold. First time it had been
recharged since buying it in 95 so it's holding pretty good. Keeping
my little hoard in a nice safe place :)
