Check the archives of the Vanagon list from about 2 years ago.  I did
a write-up on my experience with the S&S Header system on a 2.1L
Vanagon.  My email at the time was bloss@enter.net...try searching
for that and "exhaust."

Bottom line was that the installation was not bad, it worked well for
me, gave me a noticable power improvement, and is still installed in
the van (recently sold).  Note that some others have not had such
good experiences with the S&S sytem.
