It could be the ECS-Malfunction indicator light and switch. ECS = Emission Control System. These are for CA models.� I have the wiring for one, but not one installed. VW must have had the wiring in place in case it was sold in CA. I seems that the ECU sends out a signal to light the switch when something is not with the engine controls. Robert
