A friend of mine has a 91 Westi. The PO had removed the front
grill and
tossed it because he thought that it was a communication
transponder, or
a tracking device, that aliens were using. I AM NOT LYING! I AM
NOT
DRUNK! THIS IS A TRUE STORY!

rats!! we wondered why he dropped off the detection system!! now
we'll never know where he is!!! ;)

Anyway, my friend has replaced the grill
and is looking for a used VW emblem that goes in the middle of
it.
Apparently, the size of the emblem changed at least once. The
raised
ring, which holds the decal, measures 13 cm across. Presumably
the
emblem is flush with the outside edge of the raised ring. Anyone
have
one?

find a junkyard with a front-end wrecked 88-91 .. they have the
smaller vw emblems.

good luck!
