So I was in Angle Fire New Mexico this weekend and the van decided to quite on me. Drove out Friday afternoon and camped at the ski area. Woke up Saturday morning and the engine cranks strong, but wont fire up? Removed the fuel line at the fuel rain and no fuel is coming out while cranking the engine. Removed fuel filter to check for clog. No clog. When key is turned on I can hear the fuel pump engage for about 5-10 seconds, then switch off. Had the van towed to Metric Auto in Taos NM. They were closing up, but from my description he said it could be the Pre-pump in the fuel system. Do our vans have this?? Anyway needless to say it was an ugly weekend, the van is in Taos and we are back in Colorado. Just wanted to hear any Ideas. I should get a call today or tomorrow and will give an update. Also if there is a pre-pump in the tank is this a huge job? How much would I be looking at?
