I would like to get a deep cycle gel model. I have researched some of the vanagon archives and they weren't very helpful. It sounds like I need a special battery or have to modify the case, etc. Is there a battery that will fit, and where can I purchase one? Do they carry them at Costco? >> I went through this recently also. Costco had nothing that would fit without cutting our metal or off posts. I purchased a sealed unit from Batteries Plus. Was told the same unit is used in the Miata. Fits fine, cost around $70. They had two different units possible. Battery made in China. Same unit was available from local commercial battery supply house.
