Cut about 1/2 inch from the short side of a 6mm allen wrench and it will fit right in there. The pipe can then be pushed down low enough to remove the pump. How the heck do you get the water pump out of this thing??? Those bottom two hex bolts that hold the pipe to the passenger side of the engine are buried deep and the @#$*& crankshaft pulley is in the way... You mean I have to disassemble the pulley? If so how do I hold the engine/crankshaft still while undoing the big nut on the pulley... This all makes me want an aircooled instead of my wasserleaker Any advice or calming words would be appreciated -- Dan Erlandson Flemington, NJ > danoer1@eclipse.net 91 VW Vanagon GL 170,000 mi 99 VW Passat 107,000 mi
