I friend of mine has an '87 Vanagon that has a problem with the trip
odometer. The speedo is accurate, as is the odometer. The trip odometer
seems to hang up at 0.8 miles, then goes on OK until 1.8 miles, then hangs
up again. This process continues every mile. Any ideas on this one? I
suggested to let it completely roll over at 999.9 miles, but I don't think
it will help. It seems consistantly off. He showed me the numbers he
recorded and it was running at 62% of the main odometer.
