Shannon Had the same problem when I changed my wiper motor. So with wiper motor off ( wiper switch), when you slide your hand up behind the wiper motor mounting, the little arm attached to the wiper motor shaft and the relay rod should be in a straight line. See Bently 92.2,92.3 and you'll see what I mean. If you pop off the relay rod,you can remove wiper motor rod (may have to loosen of mounting bracket) and straighten. When you push on the relay arm you'll notice the wiper arms will now be out of adjustment- take off and replace,70mm and parallel to bottom edge of windscreen. Hope this helps Gerry ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shannon Mitchell" <vze4rq5j@VERIZON.NET> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Tuesday, June 24, 2003 8:24 PM Subject: Wiper Motor NIGHTMARE! Well I got the motor in and the dash back on.. but I have had quit a time adjusting the wipers.. First try I got the wipers in the correct position ( bottom of the windshield ) turned them on.. only to watch them go down and wipe off the head lights.. so back under the dash I went loosening the bolt on the motor that holds the linkage on and moved the position of the linkage and tried it again.. it got a little better.. I have tried this over and over and can't seem to get it right.. I now have no skin on my knuckles.. is there a trick to this process? any help would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks Shannon 91 Vanagon
