Subject:Re: What is the size of the cooling fan behind the radiator?

The diameter of the fan body should be 305mm in diameter. This is for the
450 watt fan that was used on 87-91 Vanagons with A/C. If this is the fan
that you have then it is plenty of flow (the thing is like a hurricane).
Anything larger and when it kicks in the van won't need a waterboxer motor,
it will be sucked along by the negative pressure vortex created by this fan.

Thanks,

I would like to know what the size of the fan is from someone that has a fan
off and can get to it. I am looking to change out to a higher flowing fan
to
improve A/C cooling in the heat of AZ.

Thanks,

Robert
