I have been using Purolater Pure One on all my VWs for a while. I used to use Fram, these have a bit better specs on a couple fronts. I'd still use a Fram or Bosch, if that's what I had on the shelf. They're all pretty good, nowadays. Filters and oils are so much better than they were 30 years ago, it's almost astonishing. tom On 9 Jul 2003 at 12:15, Steve Russell wrote: > Hi Volks, > I've normally been using Bosch oil filters in our 84 Westy, however I only have one left and am heading on the road soon for about 5 months. Without ordering anymore Bosch, can I use one of the brands sold at the local auto shop, such as Quaker State or Fram Double Guard. Is there any difference between these and the Bosch? What is everyone out there using? Opinions and experiences greatly appreciated. > Ciao > Steve - '84 Westy (Moaning Myrtle) > ------ Tom Ring K0TAR, ex-WA2PHW EN34hx taring@taring.org "It is better to go into a turn slow, and come out fast, than to go into a turn fast and come out dead."
