I get attached to my buses, so I always think to repair them. I replaced my leaking 1.9 with a 2.1 from Boston Bob and have been very happy with the 2.1. Can you install the rebuilt engine yourself? >>> Duane Fahey <dfahey@VISUALAUTOMATION.COM> 7/10/2003 9:49:23 AM >>> I don't know for sure yet, but I might need new heads on my '89 Vanagon 2.1. There is some kind of leak in the coolant system, and every other place has been explorered. I haven't had a test done yet, but I suspect the worse. So, with about 200,000 miles on the engine, what should I do? Should I fix the engine that I have, or put something new or rebuilt in? In the near future, I will need a new exhaust system and a new rear heater core, among other things I'm sure. The body is rusting now, no holes yet, but coming soon, I think. I've been looking for a 2nd vehicle anyway, so I'm wondering if I should just look for a Eurovan Camper...
