I've had two window shields changed in different buses. Never leaked. No sealant. Don't remember ever seeing any gap. The guy used a rope and a table. It was slick. I have pictures somewhere. >>> David Maurio <maurio11@COMCAST.NET> 7/23/2003 1:16:21 PM >>> Hello again list! Hope everyone's having a wonderful day, it's raining here in New Jersey and I just had a windshield installed by Safelight yesterday. $209 installed in my office parking lot. Unfortunately it's leaking, they reused the old seal which was a new seal (only a few years old) and in really good shape, without the chrome trim. They didn't use any kind of sealant or silicone, just the seal... they're coming out tomorrow to try and fix the issue, so I figured I'd ask: Is there anything I should tell the repair guy? Should he have used a sealant? The leak is on the lower corner of the drivers side. Also, the gap between where the two ends of the seal meet is about 1mm wide and at the bottom center of the windshield, should they meet perfectly or should there be sealant between them, should the seam be in another location? TIA for the help! David /NJ 85 Wolfsburg Westy "Beatrix"
