On my '84 I used a front-mount bike rack.  I liked this because the bikes could remain in place and I could still raise the back hatch without interference.

However, there must be some aerodynamic effect (negative) of the front mount.

Do any of you have an opinion as to whether this is a significant concern, or that the effect would be minimal.
