I wish I had the complete answer.  I think there should be, but it will
only be effective if the transmission is re-geared appropriately.  My
1.9 was pretty well dead when I bought the van, and I have not finished
rebuilding it.  I know there are others on the list that have 1.9NA
engines that should be able to give an opinion based an an engine in
good condition.
