Kim Brennan stated: << If you run 14" wheels, the tire for you would be the 27x8.5R14. I know this will work on the Alloy rims. If you are running the 5.5 inch wide steel 14 inch rims, this might not be recommended (though I believe I recall someone using them on the 5.5 inch wide rims.) >> One of those guys would be me. I've run two different M&S rated 27x8.5R14 tires on stock Vanagon 5.5" wide rims, with no problems. BFG Radial All-Terrain T/ A's, (not ko) and now Multi-Mile Wild Country Radial XRT's. According to the DOT code on the tire, these things are manufactured by Kelley Springfield. The MM's are much quieter than those BFG's were. George/ATL '89 Westiico, Wernher
