As people mentioned last month on the list - I gave tirerack a call after I
*thought* i spotted some goodyear 205's on thier site i thought i could use
for the westy. As it turned out - it was a typo. however the minute i said
i was looking for a 14 inch tire with a C or D load rating ..the salesman
instantly asked "is this for some VW van??" :O)
tirerack steered me towards the reinforced Yokohama van tire 185/70R14
which i had installed last week. [$50 a piece was hard to beat!! ] So i had
five installed. [ i had not actually seen the spare in the four years
since i bought my van - I figured better safe than sorry...]
The van is a little more jumpy in the highway crosswinds :O(
than my old 205's but it is not my daily driver - so I can live with it.

Lovely. Well tell that dealer if he is willing to pay for your
hospitlization, and for a new vehicle when it crashes due to the use
of
improper tires....
But seriously, find a better place to get your tires. You can get
them
online (TireRack for example). Not necessarily cheaper, but much
safer
to get the right tire. Tirerack's web site will NOT let you find the
Agilis as a tire for your Vanagon, so find it via a brand search
($109
for the 185R14.)
