Repeating an earlier question, is there a preferred
bolt for CV joints, or will any ol' allen head do?
Thanks, -damon

The TRI-Square sockets that come with the CV boot kits and as OEM are the
best fastener.
They have deep heads and they just seem to torque more properly than
Allen heads that tend to expand some in the socket.
That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
Normally you can buy a boot kit for about $13.00 that comes with the
required Tri-square, 3 oz of CV grease and the boot. That's just a few
dollars more than just the Tri-square from local shops.
Many VWs have the same CVs so wrecking yards are always an option.
