Works first time, every time for me! I write: Pre-chilling on AC may or may not help with the *lighting* of the fridge, but I believe it offers a jumpstart to the ammonia-solution boiler system, so the fridge will run better (i.e. colder, more efficiently) when you then switch over to 12VDC or propane. Even if the fridge starts 'working' immediately on 12V or propane, it can still take a while to get truly cold, especially during the summer camping season. I sure wouldn't want to stuff a lukewarm fridge fulla food (even cold food) and then hit the road, expecting the 12VDC to quickly get the system down to proper refrigeration temps. Unless you like sweaty cheese :) Jeffrey Earl 1983 diesel Westfalia "Vanasazi" __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
