I went to a semi-local repair shop to have them set the end-play of my crank. The only problem is that one of the shims was split due to a previous engine mis-assembly of the outer thrust washer. I just found out that they re-used that shim. The shim is split about 1.5" around 1/3 of the way in from the outermost edge. It doesn't lie flat, and that split is bent over by a couple material thicknesses. Is this a part that needs to be replaced? The shop specializes is vw busses, and i don't, but this seems wrong to me. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks, -Damon ===== '84 Westy (Sparky) '65 Kharma Ghia (Dharma) __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
