Hey Y'all, been awhile... Stored the Westy at my father-in-laws pole-barn over winter and had a few visitors that did some significant damage. The pop-top canvas has several large holes in it and the urine smell is overwhelming. There were three nests. two accessed through the pop-top canvas on the upper sleeping area and one underneath the sink. Reparations: Will have to replace the pop-top canvas. To eliminate the odor from the sleeping pads I filled a baby pool full of water and ammonia, removed the foam from the fabric covers and soaked the foam in the baby pool. Still drying in the garage 3 days later. The covers I washed in cold water at the laundrymat with ammonia added as well. My brother-in-law also suggested placing a bucket of water with ammonia inside the Westy to eliminate the remaining odor--preferably on a hot day. Also using a febreze-like agent to help eliminate odor. Question: The three nests consisted of paper toweling from a roll I had stored under the sink and yellow insulation material. My question is this, where should I look for the damage to the insulation? Also, since this occurred, my temp gauge has been having spells. After running on its normal course it will, intermittently, climb quickly to the top of the gauge with the red light blinking. It goes away fairly quickly but is disconcerting. Possible electric/wiring issue from the mouse gnawing? Finally, is there a good mouse-proofing procedure? Thanks! ===== Chris Rowland a5ym3tr1c@yahoo.com '85 Westy - "Tinkerbell" __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
