If it's icing up, your system is not working correctly. There should be a temp sensor wire that runs from the expansion valve and drops through an opening to the evaporator. The expansion valve should restrict the flow of freon when the temperature nears freezing. Turn the thermostat down to about half way. Keep adjusting until you find the air OK. No need to have it on "full Arctic" if not needed, and the ice is probably telling you that. Bob Stevens '87 Syncro Westy http://groups.msn.com/BobsPhotoShare Just got back from a trip to NC from Orlando. AC worked great on the way up, but on the way back I was getting pretty toasty, it seemed like the fan wasn't pushing the air all the way to the front. When I got home and opened the back hatch, I found that the air intake for the AC was half covered with ice about 1/2 inch thick! Is there a cure for this? It sure would have been nice if I had been benefitting from all that air that was cold enough to freeze water! deb '85 Westy "Gypsy" Orlando _________________________________________________________________ Tired of spam?
