I've got a question regarding this. I've got a 1980 air-cooled and an after-market oil temperature gauge. The question is: What's too hot? I definitely get as hot as 120C before I really start worrying. Is that too hot already? \/\/i!!y 1980 Westfalia "Jazzy" -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM] On Behalf Of Malcolm Stebbins Sent: August 12, 2003 2:00 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Re: External oil cooler, Help overheating Can't help you, but I can tell you that I had an 81 Westy and I had a full flow oil cooler on it and it still overheated on hills (in the heat) or just with the AC on. Good luck. This was back in 81 when the westy was new.
