The " How to Hto Rod VW engines" book says that for every 10 degrees your engine's oil runs over 210F, your engine life is cut in half. My 79 loaf engine was balanced, ported big intake vale heads from FAT,, had a thermostatically controlled mega oil cooler on it and dual two barrel Weber 44IDF's and headers. Head temps measured at the exhaust manifold stud on #3 never got over 450 F, and the oil never got over 210 climbing I-24 to Sewanee TN from either direction in August. It's more than cool oil, you really need one venturi per cylinder to use the fuel to cool the valves. Man that loaf would run!!! reminiscing with people I barely know, dm&fs At 02:14 PM 8/12/2003 -0400, Russell, William wrote: >I've got a question regarding this.
