I would take a trip down to the used car lot and see how much you can get for it. Avoid heartbreak and financial ruin. Smart people sell their Vanagons and buy a boat. They're cheaper. The prefered method is to drive a Bentley and get a VW manual. Well damn, OK... get the operators manual and figure out how to work everything. From loading propane to lighting the fridge, to putting the top down without ripping the fabric. Better to know these things sitting in your driveway rather than in the middle of nowhere. tim in san jose >From: Julia Schrenkler <ckjas@MN.RR.COM> >Reply-To: Julia Schrenkler <ckjas@MN.RR.COM> >To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM >Subject: Hello-and- suggested first steps for a new owner? >Date: Fri, 22 Aug 2003 17:57:18 -0500 > >Hello all, > >This is a fantastic list and the archives are already helping cure those >small baffling items > >We picked up our first Westy (A lovely 89 manual with comparatively low >miles and great body!) on the 17th.
