Westfalia was recently purchased by Daimler-Chrysler and VW will no longer be
having conversions done by Westfalia but will be doing their own starting
next year.  This ends a 51 year partnership between VW and Westfalia.

I haven't yet seen any of VWs plans for camper conversions so can't comment
on the fate of the pop-top.
