Hi folks,
Its the most beautiful morning of the summer here in NYC, so of course
I'm underneath the van. Project of the day: replace cat, muffler, and tail
pipe.
I've measured the new parts, and everything should work well with the
nameless after-market headers in place. The part that's giving me a hard
time is the joint between the old cat and the header; it's pretty well fused
together. I've been at one of the bolts with a hacksaw, and there seems to
be no difference between the flange-metal and the bolt: if I saw of the bolt
completely it doesn't seem like it'll bring me any closer to separating that
joint.
Any tips? I may have access to borrowed power tools later, but this
could likely remain a hacksaw-hammer-and-teeth operation.
thanks,
Matt Sutton
