I need to replace my water pump on my 91 Vanagon.

My mechanic is having a devil of a time getting the bolts to move.

He says he has to remove the main pully to get at one of the bolts.

 My Vanagon manual apperas to be silent on water pump replacement.

 Any advice or source of info on this topic would be greatly appreciated.
