Gas lines. Regardless of mileage, you have 12 years on them. Time to
get them replaced.
If you have power steering, check the lines to the steering rack.
Depending on where your Vanagon has been, they may be terribly rusty or
in fine shape. If rusty, you might want to consider doing something
about them.
