Volks,

Emissions tested after 20 months and 20,000 miles when done by previous owner. Seemingly big changes have occurred since last tested.

DRIVING:
HC's        - 27 to 86 ppm         (181 max)       ~up 68%
CO          - .66 to .60 %          (1.69 max)      ~unchanged
NOx        - 772 to 1810 ppm    (2105 max)     ~up 58%

IDLE:
HC's        - 241 to 258 ppm      (392 max)       ~unchanged
CO          -.27 to .03 %            (4.45 max)      ~down 88%

HC's are high and NOx is very high - almost the maximum. Any ideas? Had a major tune up 6000 miles ago. Engine has about 40,000 miles. Ignition wires and air filter changed prior to testing. Should maybe have changed the the plugs and cap though. Cheers
