Hi Edward,  Check the price on the "rebuild kit" by having a known good
local person with a resale license price one from the major kit suppliers.
I had a bmw 3.0SI and the quote to rebuild the BW-65 transmission was over
1K$.  The wholesale price of the bits and pieces including a "new" valvebody
was less than $300.  The process and the labor is pretty easy, at least for
the BW-65.  Worth a look.
