Oh, I forgot one step.  If this is an analog meter, after you select the
range you need to touch the probes together and adjust the 'ohms adjust'
knob so the meter reads 0 ohms.  It had been so long since I used an
analog ohmmeter I forgot about this, but there may still be some of them
out there.
