used fuel tanks are typically not recommended as once they are used, the protective layer of oil or wax is dissolved. So once they are removed from the bus and let to sit in teh garage or shed they will rust as it is bare metal. I know of one person that has gone through 4 used tanks in a few years b/c of this. (but if you can get a tank used for 10 or 15$... then that is a different story!) ----- Original Message ----- From: The Bus Depot <vanagon@BUSDEPOT.COM> Date: Tuesday, October 14, 2003 2:15 pm Subject: Re: Anyone with a used fuel tank... > > for an '83 vanagon, mine's a diesel if it matters. > > > I have new ones, for $161 with listmember discount. > > - Ron Salmon > The Bus Depot, Inc. > www.busdepot.com > (215) 234-VWVW > > _____________________________________________ > Toll-Free for Orders by PART # : 1-866-BUS-DEPOT >
