Steve,

When mine went out I found the cause was a connector under the carpet under the back seat on the driver's side of the rear heater box.

 I have an 85 vanagon and the rear speakers dont work.Do any off you guys know how the wire is run from the dash to op of the back.I couldnt find it in my bently manual.Some help would be nice.thanks,steve
