Back in the 70,s we found may distributors with the center bushings becoming oblong. To check pull the dist. out , with the rotor on turn the rotor around and put pressure to it to see if you can make it wobble back and forth as you turn.If SO you need a new dist. This can cause premature wear on the cap & rotor If you bought the rotor from the Depot it should be ok / If you bought from the chain store junk stores be care fullllll . We had a customer 2 weeks ago who had his own dist cap in a Bosch box .He asked if we could put it on along with the rest of the job . No problem I say ! Asked the fellow where he bought it from/ the Chain Store Junk Store was his reply . When taking it from the box we find it was not a Bosch cap but a cheap cheap black bait & switch item ( buyer beware ) The game is on -you take the good Bosch cap from the box and sell it with out a box for say $10.00 they paid $5.00 = 100% profit ) you now take the Bosch box & put in the cheap cheap black cap you now sell it also for $ 10.00 BUT YOU ONLY PAID $1.50 in bulk from a Mexican source / Most customers dont know that Bosch items come in a box ) wE find that people are ripping the door handles of these stores not to get out But to get in to be ripped off . Heavy advertising promotes this trend . Stay away from parts HELL It,s Deception Buy from Reputable Vw parts Distributors WHO HAVE BEEN AROUND !!!.Many good sources out there. Yall have a nice day !!! ~~~~~~~ Don at DVW Import Auto Parts 1-800-248-4802
