Yep, welded em seven times now. The installer said they'd make good on the bits but no bits yet. There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch. All custom work is a development process. Smallcar in Tacoma continues to develop solutions to subaru power, I just wish some of the recent developments made it my way. A steadily increasing number of drivers are opting for better motor designs. The 1.9TD is a good solution, The 1.9TDI mechanical is also a good solution. I've ridden in Karl's and it is certainly nice. I got a test drive in the TDI one from Euro whatever at the syncro de mayo event. I still prefer the SVX, although diesel power certainly has it's pecuniary advantages and the reliability is legendary. Raising the deck lid in a Westy is a bit of a problem. If there was a 3.Ol TDI boxer available that would be the most attractive solution for me, but there isn't, at least until I move to NZ or OZ. Cheers, Pensioner (apprentice welder, certified retro-grouch, kai-zen practitioner, nam vet, but wait there's more...)
