Well, if your right head is the only problem with the engine and the engine is otherwise sound, then, of course, it'll be cheaper to simply replace the head. However, first you have to know that it *is* the head that's the problem. Have you done any diagnostics, or had someone else do the diagnosis, to know that the head, in fact, is the problem? --------------------------------------------------------------- Tom Young '81 Vanagon Lafayette, CA 94549 '82 Westfalia --------------------------------------------------------------- ----- Original Message ----- From: "Johnny DeVilla" <johnny@JDEVILLA.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Saturday, November 29, 2003 2:44 PM Subject: Need help with a aircooled engine > help > my 81 westy is going south, my right head is shot and it is leaking oil > everywhere. > does any one know a aircooled guru in the eagle rock pasadena glendale > area? > I am considering buying a motor from importmotors.com and having a > local mechanic > install it, but being the holidays i would like to find a cheaper > solutions. > > TIA > > > > > > > Johnny DeVilla > devilla@adelphia.net > AIM jdvlla
