Those hitches were never supplied by VW. Most I have seen are made by
Valley or Reese. They are rated for ~1,100 pounds. For a small trailer
such as you describe, they will work fine. If you want a beefier hitch,
I can help you there. Let me know if you are interested in a class
three.
