I just installed 4 new boots on my Vanagon and crimped the boots on on top of the Ridges, Where are they soposed to be crimped, inside the ridges on the smooth part of the axle, outside the ridges, or on them. The ones I took off were on the ridges.

David

Phil,
In my case, short CV boot life was due to improper installation. I was not
stretching them out to the ridges on the axle.
