Subject:Re: Clacky new(ish) lifter?

Thanks for the suggestions, Sam. I am indeed running
either mann or mahle filters, but will be sticking
with dino oil for a few more k-miles as my engine
finishes settling in (i have about 3k on it now). The
click is a persistant tapping, though, which is what
prompted the question. I am familiar with the startup
tick, but this is different.

I have also been running the oil closer to the minimum
mark on the dipstick, as the oil seems to run cooler
that way (i think in large part due to the increased
stroke). I still need to get an oil temp gage hooked
up to know exactly what is going on there, but should
be relatively independent of my constant lifter noise.

Thanks,
-Damon
