I remember watching a Formula One race years ago when a car came limping into the pits in the rain. The mechanics jumped out with cans of WD40 and hosed down the electrical system with it, and the car took off and ran fine after that. Just remember that WD40 is a solvent, not a lubricant, and you'll be OK.
