Just bought an 85 Westy with engine and tranny OUT of the vehicle.

Transmission reportedly was poping out of 4th.

Is this due to the infamous 3-4 slider issue???

Is there a simple way to open up the tranny without a complete teardown to
check for this problem or other general condition.
