Propane GAS/VAPOUR will always escape when you open the valve, no matter how much/little gas is in the tank. The purpose of the valve is to ensure the tank is not overfilled, indicated by LIQUID propane escaping from the valve. During filling, the fill process should be stopped once liquid propane begins to escape (if not before), and the liquid propane should be allowed to escape, then the valve should be closed. dr tabe johnson <xtabe@YAHOO.COM> wrote: >Hi, > >I looked through the archives but didn't find an answer to >my question: > >When I go to get my propane tank filled, I understand >the procedure to be: > >-attach fill line >-open small bleed valve to right of fill line >-fill tank > > >When I open the bleed valve, is propane supposed to hiss out all >the time, or just when the tank is full?
